| How does Aleutian Storms affects PI Waves? I got a question for everyone....How does storms off the Aleutian or North Pacific affects the quality of the waves in Eastern Phil? How long does the waves hits the Phil shores? I know Tropical Storms by Guam (North East from PI), which is closer produces really good waves on North East facing beaches in the the Pacific Coast. |

| How does Aleutian Storms affects PI Waves? I've experience good swells that are generated in the southern Hemisphere (storms from New Zealand area) that hits norcal and socal (beaches that Channel Island is not blocking) a week later. I mean, clean swells.... Just like a big Pond (Pacific Ocean), if there is a disturbance in one side of the pond, one way or the other, the swell will hit the other side of the pond, might take awhile, as long as nothing is blocking the path, the swells should hit the eastern side of PI. And yeah....western side of PI doesn't get affected by the storms off the Pacifc, unless its right there in HK or Taiwan...that I know .....was asking about the eastern side, ie.. Pacific Ocean side... I'm asking because, there is a big storm of Aleutian right now, and looking at the "https://www.fnmoc.navy.mil/products/WAM/npac_swht_000.gif"< /a> website, you can see swell movements going towards "Eastern" side of PI. So, one way of the other.....there should be some good clean swells hitting the "eastern beaches" meaning the Pacific side.... |
