I have a 2nd hand 6'6 short, Al Merrick. I dont know if I am selling it yet but the chances are likely since I cant use it anyway.

Anyone know about a 2ndhand longboard naman?

I am selling a 2nd hand board. 6'6 Al Merrick. Shortboard. glassed in fins. Comes with boardbag. Willing to meet people within Manila to have them check it out.

Also, looking for a 2nd hand longboard. Preferably in the 7-8 foot range.

The need for both is urgent since I cant ride my current board (it was a gift) and I dont want to keep renting kasi minsan hassle talaga.

Jim - sorry man. reefer now owns my shortboard. i think someone else is selling boards (mabini girl yata).

Mitch - yeah, so hard to find 2nd hand longboards. try din siguro during the Longboard comp in LU... sometimes people score boards daw there. dont know about Siargao but the waves are mellower daw in the summer so baka nga longboarders go during that season.

Yes it pushed through.

The 7th Aurora Surfing Cup was held over the weekend (Feb 14-16, 2003) and was well attended by surfers from Baler, La Union, Siargao and Davao.

The first heats were held at the beach break in front of Bay's Inn and the semis and finals held at Cemento Reef.

For more details check out their super cool website: www.batangbaler.tk

Although I think Al's invented winning roster might be more fun to read... the results for this year's Aurora Cup are as follows:

Wahine:
1st: Marie - La Union
Daisy - La Union
Manet - Siargao
Vangie - Baler

Men's Open:
1st: Al-al - Siargao
Dodo - Siargao
Edmund Mendoza - Baler
Rommel Postor - Baler

Grommet and Junior -- sorry... I dont remember. Maybe Al can help us out? Al? You there? Hehe.

Nope... am not from Baler... and we left before the suman festival started unforch. But the locals were telling us about the monster sized suman that they make over there during the fiesta.

AL - try your magic 8-ball instead...

Not the best written piece but it does contain all the necessary info for those who can not wait for Al to invent contest results:

she could have been referring to bjorn and his bro... sometimes they have boards for sale. got my 7'6 mini-mal from them.

there is also a store in katipunan that sells boards. it doesnt look like a shop... i passed by on the way to sparadisio and looked inside lang... there were all these boards lined up inside it. but no signage on the front or anything.

The one in Katipunan that I THINK is a surf shop is on the second floor of the building where Sparadisio is also. It's on the flyover area of Katipunan, on  the same side as Katips. They have no signage though. Basta, look for Sparadisio.

Fluid naman... the guys work from the house so it's best if you just text Bjorn to ask. I dont know if their house is public knowledge kasi. He checks these forums on occassion as well.

It is closer on them map but further in real life because of the route you take to get to Baler. You need to go through the Sierra Madres first.

By bus: take the Genesis bus (station is in EDSA cor Taft).
By really sturdy car: Go through Cabanatuan then towards Palayan and Bongayon -- then you hit the mountains... drive straight through them til you get to Aurora. (Actually if Alex is still around you can ask him for specific directions since I got those directions from him)

The trip can take between 5 to 15 hours depending on conditions and mode of transpo.

heard that same story while we were in LU din... have been told to bring my own padlock next time we decide to stay at surf camp (technically now "san juan surf resort").
in the version i heard, someone broke into the room forcibly.

al - i hear that hacienda is okay but that it can also sometimes be kinda dirty... depends who you talk to really.

millie girl... seems like hacienda is getting the vote from most people... have not stayed there... and have had mixed reviews... surf camp/san juan surf resort as well if you bring your own padlock i suppose... agree with al that sebay is overpriced... oh, there's this new place called waveriders but its pricey unless you have a whole bunch of people with you to share the cost of the rooms.

very good site except for one thing -- last time we were in siargao green room resort had shut down... did they open again?

also, ZiDD one of the reasons that could be attributed to the lack of Siargao surfing presence on most boards is a lack of internet access on the island.

Al -- bad trip pare. we shall all pray for your speedy recovery. as to using painkillers i wouldnt advise it. you need to listen to your body. i attempted to paddle out the weekend after i got hurt remember? and had to be saved by Angel right in front of Camp... magkasama yata tayo pauwi that trip...
