Guess where This just off the surfermag site. Clues are the walkway and deck.
tracks Mark, I will just say you don't need to get on the yacht to surf the wave, and locals know the spot. Jerry is correct. It's the same wave. Rock formations (and its color) seen behind the wave are very distinctive. The boat trip lucked on a good swell last October.

short board for sale hey reefer, went out of my way to check out the board and was kinda misled by the specs, it's quite a bit thinner at 6'3 x 18' 5/16 x 2' 1/4. Also not really brand new, more slightly used, certainly not a lily white board. Good brand though, it's a Nirvana.
surf trip in zambales Was in zambales for a few days when the 4cast was good last week, unfortunately the waves in most spots were small and onshore.
surf trip in zambales Spoonman those were my pictures they used in the MTV Ink magazine. All the photos of surfing action were shot in Baler a year ago. The fashion and product shots on the beach were taken in Capones Island by MTV Ink's photographer. It was flat in Zambales so MTV Ink asked for surfing pics from me.
surf trip in zambales Sensimillia i agree, go tell Baler locals Django, Ocoy, Olin, Biong or RG Hugo. They were all in that session in Baler last year. Go tell them that the surf pics of them that i took were taken in Zambales as you and spoonman insist. Once they prove you wrong i hope you'll be man enough to admit your mistake and buy the Baler crew a round of beer.
surf trip in zambales Oh, about the threats, they sound as empty as your brains. But email me details so we can do something more concrete about it, no vague stuff.
SURF EB in ZAMBALES!!! reccos, kindly check this thread, specifically your own posts. You and spoonman were the ones who started the off topic post on Fluid. Millie said it best in the other thread, maybe take the time to read it. The owners of Fluid don't post here and can't or won't bother to answer your cheap shots.
surf trip in zambales The accusation that Jorn instilled localism is, frankly, absurd. I've surfed in Zambales numerous times but have never witnessed or even heard of heated arguments, much less physical violence. There is more animosity between factions within LU, Baler or Daet from what I've observed. I've been with surfers from San Narciso, Pundaquit, Baretto, surfing all together and the vibe is much better than a crowded weekend sesh in Mona Liza, when a lot of the surfers don't know each other. In fact, the most "violent" thing i've seen was when a Pundaquit local stormed off the beach because another Pundaquit guy was hogging a communal board. But talk about localism, dude. Last week i paddled out at Pipe, dropped in on Sunny, and now I'm back here typing with my nose. I think the perceived hostility that the San Narciso boys get happens when they bring in new faces or guests. But this is understandable. Locals, non-locals, groms, rippers, your lolos and lolas will not light up in joy and wave when a group of strangers paddle in. And another group the next weekend. So yes maybe some will "smear" or sneer, not sure what Dodo was saying exactly. But aside from that and a drop-in argument that happens everywhere (except maybe in the utopian surf world that Shadow's trying to achieve) Dodo in his 3 page post did not back up his assertion that Jorn instigated and preached localism. Not a single instance of localism was pointed out, yet Dodo thinks Jorn "brainwashed" Pundaquit locals with "simple minds" to wage localism (Pundaquit locals are far from simple-minded, you should see them put the moves on Manila babes) It sounded more like a crazed exorcism, but anyone who knows Jorn will vouch that the most evil thing about him is his dreads (: About the boards, yes 3 boards were alloted and meant for the Manila group that was then the only active club in regional events. Eventually all 3 boards were donated to the Pundaquit locals, along with 2 personal boards. Yes that was a good sesh long ago, Dodo. But no, that wasn't my first time in Zambales, I hooked up with Shawn and the Baretto boys way before that. You may claim Crystal beach is world class, but i and every surfer who know him will find it hard to believe Jorn is a world class war monger. Dodo, that was a good one! Much better than my lame Pipe joke. Seriously, Dodo, we've worked together on an important project before that makes all this miniscule in comparison. Try to concentrate on that and let this issue rest a bit. Lighten up. Pretty soon we'll have a good sesh again, and look back on this and laugh our heads off. I know this island where all these f**ckin buggers can't drop in on us... Compared to LU (fisticuffs, forced deportation, campfire zealotry), Daet (girlfriend swiping, brawls, embezzlement, wave height appraisal) , Baler (murderous debate about first Pinoy ever to surf, cemento parking, missing palengke funds) or Siargao (might exceed Dodo's 3 pages), Zambales surfing is practically a love fest. Give em time and they'll get to those levels themselves, even without Jorn's psy-ops, or even with Dodo's community work. It's called , uhm, life. This is getting too long. I propose that from hereon, each word posted in this thread be paid 1 peso by the writer. This will go to the anti-localism fund. Or to construct Shadow's Surf Utopia Commune. Starting now.
Shaping in the Philippines Hey Louie! I know you said minor dings only, but I got a newish board that was broken in Siargao. If you're not too busy yet, I'm donating the board to the Pundaquit locals if you can repair it. Good luck with your venture!
