Sorry Norm, your wrong. Maybe it wasn't you I asked to move the fire but I did ask someone. The fire was directly in front of Hacienda and not near the locals nipa hut. I can show you the exact spot next time your up here. Had it been near the nipa hut then I would never have complained.
I apoligize for saying you are from Bagiuo, thats what Pancita from Hacienda told me.
My question is, why did you light the fire knowing the smoke was going to fill up my house. Do you have such little regard for others and what consequences your actions may create.
Yours has been the only fire I have put out because all the others have been more considerate. What about the trash you and your pals left on the beach that nite. Did you clean it up? no you didn't.
What dosn't surprise me is the anger being vented by your fellow countrymen at me for something I didn't start.
Just another name to add to the police report. Not you Norm

As an aside, before Knefut tops me, while we are talking about the local surfers nipa hut, that during a meeting of lot owners to discuss  security problems, Atty.Yabes, owner of SeBay, was going to ask the San Juan Mayor to have it demolished as he thought all the robberies were being done by the local surfers.
I convinced him that it wasn’t the locals doing the break-ins and that the hut should stay as it was a great place for them to hang out. And so it remains to this day.
Had I been the scumbag foreigner you all think I am, I would have driven Atty. Yabes to the mayor’s office myself.
I also happen to be sponsoring a local surfer to compete in the Aurora cup next weekend.
Knefut, what has Partas Bus Company got to do with anything? You’re on another planet man.
Your ok marclucas, I am just giving them printouts of the posts. All a bit over the top isn't it?
Glad I didn't squash a trycycle.

Norm, I have just printed out your post and re-read it in a more leisurely way.
First of all I said it must be read in conjunction with the “Surf the Philippines with us” thread. I can see that you are an educated man and I was not critisizing your government or country but the way power is used to benefit a few do the detriment of many. I am all for freedom to surf wherever you like and do not condone private surf spots in any way. I am friendly with the Badoc Island management (not owners) and I tell them this all the time but it is the local officials who make the rules whether they are legal or not.
How my putting out your fire became an issue in a very good thread is a mystery but I suspect the instigator has a deep seated hatred for all foreigners and nothing we say here will change that.
Anyway Norm, I just have to clarify with you a few FACTS.
The fire you started was on the dry sand creek mouth which runs between my place and Hacienda. The fire was 15 metres from my boundary and 20 metres from my house. The nipa hut is 76 metres from my boundary. Had the fire been in FRONT of my place or near the nipa hut there would not have been a problem. As you know the wind was very strong and it took you a long time to get the fire started hence my standing on my balcony trying to get you to stop. As you said “the sound of the waves surely overpowered our noise” (I never complained about any noise and it was wrong of you to insinuate that I did) so I guess you couldn’t hear me also. You knew EXACTLY what I was saying! You were only 20 metres away, not 76metres
And you think I am going to carry a “huge” pale of water 76metres. Not likely.
And you didn’t have to be a rocket scientist to know which way the smoke was going to go.
I do accept your apology but I do think one of your group is being a little short on the truth because I did ask previously not to light there.
As for the “locals” not liking me, that’s ok. In every group there are a few losers and as they were in the hut that nite I suspect it was them. They hate all foreigners, not just me. Why they are called “locals” I don’t know, they don’t come from this place. Maybe Knefut was one of them. The real locals are a bunch of great guys and my friends also.

Al, I am just giving the police copies of these forums. I am not going to lay charges against anyone. If anything happens to myself or my place or family it will give them somthing to go on. That is pretty heavy shit knefut is dishing out and he should be banned unless he identifies himself

marclucas, the manager would love to have internet connection but there are no landlines to the place,Im not sure about the owners in Oz though. Methinks the barangay captain would say anything so as not to offend anyone, the resort makes substancial donations to the school each year and I dont think they would like to lose that. As for locals not surfing, not sure, but it is not like LU where friendly learning surf is common, the beaches around Badoc are pretty poor quality.

Settle down Mark, you asked a question and I tried to give you an answer. I dont condone what they do I just told you how it is. As I said earlier, anyone can surf badoc if they want to, just dont ask for help unless you stay at the resort. That is THEIR policy, not mine.
Well, Their setting up for the longboard comp, gotta go

I lived in Subic for quite a while, never ever had a good wave in Zambales. No one mentions the strong tidal currents that you have to paddle against except when full high or low. Plus when the swell is up it usually means it is raining and the water is dirty.
The best wave is during a full on Typhoon in the South China Sea, 2 to 3 meter left hander over a protected reef, clean water, and is situated at................ahh, my secret. But so close to civilization you wouldnt believe it! But its not all bad, Beautiful beaches and magnificent mountin backdrop, it really is a beautiful location.

They dont. Aleutian storms affect Hawaii and West coast USA.
PI east coast gets swell from NE Monsoon and tropical storms or typhoons.
West coast PI gets its best swell from the strong winds through the Taiwan Straights during the NE Monsoon and the occasional typhoon as it heads towards Hong Kong.
Swells do not like to go around corners which is why boats like to shelter in the lee side (where there is no wind) of an island. Its as simple as that.
