Hey hydrophobia, I just need some piece of advice. When does a newbie longboarder shift to shortboard. In my case I've learned to surf just 5 months ago and somewhat could handle a longboard. Any recommendations? Thanks again.

I've been more steady with a 9 footer (these are the boards being rented at surf camp) and tried their 8 footer as well and yet still quite ok. In fact I am looking for a longboard as well as a shortboard for myself.
Anyway, thanks for the tips.I'll probably work on the mini-mal first and be comfortable with that before I move on the shortboard.
