I amn currently in the US. I grew up in La Union. Some of you I rpobably even know or know my family. I can't believe that surfing there is popular now. I wish I grew up suring there, but I just started surfing last season in the NE part of the US. I miss my homeland! Keep surfin cuz the wavs are always awesome there from what I remember. What part of La Union were the pics from?

I live in Massachusetts by the coast, so I get to surf in New Hampshire, MA, Maine. Whereabout in La union were the pics, do u know?

san juan is like 2 towns away from san fernando right? Thats where I was born. Im so proud to be born in such an awesome country with such awesome waves... waves here in the 3 months of summer that we have is less than waist high... no comparison to what we got in the Islas. Where you from in La Union?

oh my gosh, i use to love going to baguio. Are a lot of things changed down there in La Union?

My old house use to be in mabaho beach... near there...then we moved to catbangen close to poro point... I remember going to the beaches closes to that point and there was great surf, but no one surfing it!
I wanna go back there to visit. I havent been back there since I was 11. which was like 10-12 yrs ago. I miss it. What part of San fernando are u guys from?
I definitely gotta keep in touch with "me people" before I go back so I'll know the spots to go to surf down there.

I know where san juan is. My friend was buried in a cemetery there. And i had friends that use to live there. I've been outta the country for 11 yrs or more.So I still know where towns are and different places. I still have my house there. Are you familiar with a family who's last name is Lubrin? That's my family. We have land in Biday! Hey YNA maybe I even know you!

yeah... locals and all that crap. (I'm not one also to give spot names) I'm definitely just starting out. I can give you names of beaches that i surf. You're gonna have to find em yourself though. (I can't give directions, I suck at it. The 'net is good for that). York, Maine has Long Sands. They also have Ogunquit beach. New Hampshire has "The Wall" (awesome waves when its big (no waves in the summer though). GLouscester (good harbor beach. Rhode Island also has surf.
These are just some. Keep in mind though that summertimes here are small waves and its going to be crowded with some 'crushers. Some of these beach are so strict about where surfers can surf.

flat spells may be starting soon... but It was good for a couple of days at the wall, sometime last week. It's glassy too. It's definitly worth the trip from connecticut to here though. only an hour or two. Damn, we drive like 45 min to surf and shit sometimes 45 min to an hour depending how many days we have to surf

so, where is everyone from? and how did u get into surfing, especially surfing in the Philippines?

thats cool...I didnt get into surfing until I moved here in Massachusetts. HOw sad is that? its pretty stupid cuz i coulda been good buy learning there wiht consistent head high waves everyday!

sure... no surf in the PI at all... I believe that, just terrorists and all... NOT! We're flying there tomorrow, with my crew of surfer's to invade...jk

i live in the us... and I have nothing to say about you inviting us to surf... but i just wanna let you know that you shouldn't assume that all surfer's are "nice and cool"... its obvious u havent been in the surfing community... good luck  

it is very ashamed... and very embrassing especially for us that are in the US and not from the south of PI. not that i get treated like shit, but  u know what i mean. HOw cna u be proud of a country that supports some terrorism...Surfing in the other hand, and beautiful beaches with consistent head high waves.... there yeah go   a country to be proud of. My friends envy the pics they see

I'll definitely wanna meet all u guys when i get out there... teach me a lesson or two (unless I improve a lot, but under these crappy shitty, small conditions that we have in MA, forget it). Seems like everyone is still friendly in my dear 'ol country.

anyway, i saw rizal tanjung surfing and saw him in a video, and he totally looks filipino. I don't doubt that meagan abubo has some sort of pacific blood. She looks very "islander".

that's hilarious how people from the mts (baguio) thought that the boards were strange things. I remember growing up in the 80's and not seeing anyt surfers around. any idea as to when surfing became popular in the Philippines, especially in La union?

o man...   thats too hilarious... this aint a cat fight. its a surf forum where u can say your opinions. I just think its funny the way u talk cuz its such a crusher way to talk! almost all crushers come out of cali, form my experience.
And marklucas: always been into it but it wasnt popular back then when i lived there. Finally got enough money to buy myself a surfboard booties, wetsuit, rack and everything to go out there. I surf in shitty choppy days. BUt im still out there even if i get destroyed. F the crushers. thank god i dont talk like one. "SURFS UP DUDES!!!!!" so lame! I dont sit at home and think of surfing. I GO OUT SURFING!!!! alone or with friends. If u really are into surfing get off your ass and get out there and stop talking like a surfer.
Sorry to be open about this, but it bothers me alot, and i happen to be very tight knit with surfers and shapers or both where I live now! DONE!

wait... actually not done: so this is a little ps: (so NB): The only way u can learn how to surf is to go out there and do it on your own! It doesnt really do any good to go meet people to talk about surfing. it does good to actually do it. No excuses. If u dont have a board go get one. If there's no swell where you are at, go drive and find yourself an effin swell.
The thing that really should be talked about when it comes to surfing is where to find surf, your size of board and where to get a decent shaper to shape u a board. I am not claiming myself expert to anything cuz I've only been surfing for a year and a half, but instead of talking, through experience can i only really say anything about surfing! and if you're a grom learning then its good to ask questions but to have an image and try to talk like one, you just look like a kook!
The people in this forum that are real surfers like petrucci that i've talked to away from this forum does not talk like a typical "surfer dude" from cali... he's all about surf! << just giving a good example. and the other chic that posted a message i wish i could remember her name , but this girl is pretty real.
