so, where is everyone from? and how did u get into surfing, especially surfing in the Philippines?

i was originally from manila philippines and i was interested in surfing but never really knew anybody who surfed.. until i bumped into an old friend in highschool who surfed..he invited me and it all started from there. got my first wave, got stoked and got hooked... and then i got to meet people who are into this also like al, sd, anna and alex, some locals, lukie and archie...even todd

originally from DAet..where the Philippine's first competition was held(or is it?hehe)but now in HK..surfed LU twice ...

thats cool...I didnt get into surfing until I moved here in Massachusetts. HOw sad is that? its pretty stupid cuz i coulda been good buy learning there wiht consistent head high waves everyday!

i'm from manila too.. livin in south cal at the moment.. was able to sample la union's waves few yrs ago.. nice and warm.. ahhhhhh nakaka miss..

I'm from quezon city. i've always been fascinated with the idea of surfing ever since i was a kid. i'm into almost any kind of water sport. never realized we had surfable waves here in the philippines until around 2000. finally got to surf with a friend from guam at LU last year...stoked!

dont go to the phils for a surf, crazy bandits and terrorists pack the lineup and stay away from the islands from june to february, no waves most of the time, extremists go crazy

Man...when I was in Eastern Mindanao...I saw lotsa MILF/NPA loaded with M16's, RPG's....not a place to go surfing. I surely don't recommend go surfing in the Philippines... no surf at all ...just lotsa bandits..  

sure... no surf in the PI at all... I believe that, just terrorists and all... NOT! We're flying there tomorrow, with my crew of surfer's to invade...jk

  its a sad thing for all thats on going with my dear ol'country all those lunatics but hey! their doing a great job,endless surf spots!!no people around!!

it is very ashamed... and very embrassing especially for us that are in the US and not from the south of PI. not that i get treated like shit, but  u know what i mean. HOw cna u be proud of a country that supports some terrorism...Surfing in the other hand, and beautiful beaches with consistent head high waves.... there yeah go   a country to be proud of. from las vegas, nevada... learned surfin' in the PI... started in san juan during a visit then tried other spots in surigao, baler, and zambales... twas cool!!!

from southern california (originally from hawaii). in the philippines (ortigas, pasig) for a while on vacation, but am bummed that there isn't any surf!

well originally from Florida but never got into surfing until later,north FL has cool water in the winter and some fun low pressure swells and wind swells...shortboard never learned on a longboard...later went to Hawaii found out there's surf twenty days out of thirty rest is history
surf spots more reef, rocks and sharks the better (less people) yep that's whacthamacallit spot, my favorite!

The Philippines is a great place. There's a lot of nice people there, and there's a lot of bright

hahhaha, so true. My people def love to sing! I never spent enough time there ( I moved in the US when I was 11), and I never quite understtod why my parents would get drunk with my aunts and uncles and they'd sit around and sing karaoke... guess its a filipino thing!

i am from maroubra beach in sydney. i grew up on the gold coast surfing burleigh, kirra and the other side. now i surf the intensely crowed waves of sydney. aussie waves pump, get you ass over here and check it out. if you come just be cool, respect the locals, get out there & you will find waves that you only dreamed of. remember it aint the filippines and people in the cities don't give a f**ck about where your from as long as you show some manners
as for the filippines, i love the place, i visit 3 times each year. the surf pumps when its on, the people are much friendlier than europeans, the women are all maganda and its always warm. my type of place. so if you live there get your out there and rip a few for me you lucky bastards
