Hello All,
Been a long time lurker here on this board.  Finally made it out to PI. (been two years) I'm in Capiz province right now with family. (no surf!!  ;-(  ) I'm planning on a surf trip to Aurora or Badok island from Aug 29 th to Sept 3rd.  I know how to get there, but wanted to chat on the phone with some locals about the breaks, and be able to call and ask how the current surf is.  Anyone have any contact info for locals in those two area?  

I'm really leaning on Baler for the trip! I'm going to be watching the weather maps/ swell maps to watch for swell and decide last minute!  Any good suggestions for the lodging?  What is the best place to stay in Baler?

Thanks Kage for the info...   Some new pictures up at that site i hadn't seen yet!  Looks like there is a low pressure creeping up the Pacific side right now!   And the china Sea is boiling!   LU and Badok must be pretty good!   Cant wait to get to one of these places soon!  (Aug 29th  )

I have contacted Alvin, called him last week.  Heavy rains there in Daet have prevented him from checking on his equipment!  But we are in contact via Cell and Land line.  Thanks for the contact info!  

I'll hit you up while in Manila!  i got your cell phone # , so i'll just text ya!  Probably hit you up after i get back from Baler!  Looks like Baler is getting some good swell from Typhoon Aere.  Looks like The Typhoon in back of Aera wont get close enough to generate any swell.  

Is there anyone out there in Baler now?  sure like to know what the wave heights are today?  Alvin, how is Daet doing?  Aere give you any swell?

You go to LU this last weekend?  How was the surf?  I'm heading to Baler On or about Aug 29th!  Anyone going to be in Baler Surfing?  care to meet for a surf session.

Cool, let me know how LU is when you go!  I'll be in Baler from Aug 29 to sep 3rd!  Hoping a good typhoon will bring swell!   Although...  LU looks like it is getting some decent surf from the weather maps!  Post a surf report.. if LU is going off, i may just go there!  

There is one typhoon out in the pacific right now.  Coming towards PI.  should start showing swells on the pacific side by Friday!  The other Typhoon Aere is too far north now for the pacific. But the wrap around effect is hitting Badok.. and possibly LU right now!

Yeah, looks like someone is getting some swell!  Aere is over china, but the wrap around effect is hitting Badok and LU hard.  At least the weather maps show that.  I think Chuba is giving some overhead surf to Baler!  Although I'm not sure what swell direction that area needs to work well?  I'm heading to Baler on Sunday morning for a 6 day stay!  Cant wait.  There is another small typhoon developing out in the pacific and heading towards PI.  Hopefully give some head high plus waves for Baler!  

Is there anyone out there with a local number for a Baler surfer?  Would like to call someone there for a surf report!  cell or business phone would work!  just want to know the wave hights and conditions!  Hey, last thing, is there anywhere i can get a local tide chart for the pacific side around baler?  or webpage to reference??
