the trip is about 6 to 7 hours from manila aproximately 330 kilometers. surf season haven't started yet but you could try. once there you could go to alvino's (where the locals hangout) or you could visit ate joy at the other end she could lend you some boards for a small fee

when does surf season start in La Union? Im planning of going there this month and it would be a complete waste if i go there off season.I live and surf in daet which is pretty far from La Union and its gonna be my first time to try the north's wave. Maybe the locals of la union here could give me some advice on where to go and the best time to catch some waves there.   thanks alot guys!

just arrived from LU. and boy was it crowded but enjoyed it anyhow. Caught some good rides in tne morning upto noon I was told by the locals that I was pretty lucky to have gone there on the right time since the sea was pretty flat the previous days and the sudden swell was a good surprise to them all. If you guys are thinking of going surfing I guess now is the best time to there. The swell might last for a couple more days
