I knw the NE trade wind are blowing...creating consistant mess. But both Mati and Lazuna are backed right up to the coast line by mountains, right..? Well do these mountains cool the air enough to create morning off shore winds?

Any one currently hanging out any where along the east coast of Mindanao id love to here from you!  I m worken here in Davao and i can see there is swell hitten all along the coast, there must be some sheltered spots!!!

Shmeck grin

hey milz...

i might go there sometime this may... maybe we can hook up together... what do you say?? you guys can show me where there's good waves that a newbie can surf... hehe.. i'm used to surfing closed-out waves in daet... but i'd wanna really try surfing long... non-close-out waves... i've seen kurdec's photos.. they're about shoulder high, right? they're good enough for me... smiley well, if they're shoulder high or overhead, they'd still be good for me... hehehe...

i hope i can go there... smiley

Looks like there might be some swell on the weekend (thats this weekend coming 6-7th!) for Mati, so i might try go over for at least firday night, get a dwan surf another before lunch and then back to davao for night fall, interested?

wheres good to stay over in mati? im looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful, no luxygries required any suggesions?? access to waves most important factor!! you can get around there without private transport, right? there bikes or tricycles that will take you to the beach?

oh and where are the waves there? from the map i can see... well theres a big beach for a start...and after thathuh

shmeck,

yeh it is a pity that the waters pretty poor there! There's a little spot at SASA on the other side of the river mouth that is a little cleaner and some oh so tiny waves break there. On low tide you can walk across the sandbar to the other side,or just cross the main bridge and weave thru some of the locals houses there, they don't mind smileyIts a little murky near the shore, but about 50metres out it's clear...good for swimming smiley

Ill be in Davao on the 25th of March. There's some guys at the HABAGAT in SM MALL who surf too, they usually surf a little up north.Pop in there and ask them,Im sure theyd be happy to at least help you out or let you surf with them smileyIm not sure of any places to stay at Mati, last time we were there we just camped on the beach.

Kurdec,

haha,I saw the pik of Ritch and his gut!Where is he now??is he back in Cebu?
