hey...

a friend of mine is planning on hosting a surf competition this summer.. in daet... i just dunno what date yet.. but he wants to get hooked up with media companies.. entities.. who'll be interested in it..

it's gonna be a well planned event and will really require funds.. that's why he's planning to have it covered by media entities... and he's also planning to look for sponsors... which would be enticed by the media that would cover the event.. this will be a non-profit event... and aims to somehow unite, or tie-up a bond between all the few surfers here in the philippines.. hmm... plans include covering the travel fare from manila to daet, lodging and food for all the participants for the span of the whole event, and other activities that would make it a great one...

yeah.. plans are simple... making drafts and paper works are not so much easy... but getting the sponsors and media is an entirely different matter... so i decided to post here.. maybe some of you know somebody in GMA7 or ABS-CBN or other media entities... or possible sponsors for that matter...

thanks for the replies.. yeah.. i was thinking of that too... i havent talked to the bigman.. the main brain for the event about it... hmm.. the date it's planned to take place is on the 3rd week of april of this year.. last time i was there during the holy week, wave's not so consistent... except when there was a storm in the pacific... it's in the holy week period... waves are so huge but so powerful and hmm... not really consistent... anyway... i'll talk to him about it too...

one more thing i've been thinking about this is that the planning should have started during the last months of last year... i think it's not easy to organize an event this big within just a few months...

either way, it's still a good start to find contacts for the sponsors and medias...

we were surfing san jose and the TV cast of GMA (probe team) were there..around may 2000,twas a good day to surf..

summer can be good at Daet..ull never know..

hmm.. what we need are consistent waves for them to even get interested... coz if we just hang on to the possibility of having great waves by then... it's unreliable thing...

i wish alvin contacts me soon.. i cant go back to daet any time sooner too..

im in daet right now.. talked to alvin about the event.. thing is, i dont know what course of action he'll take now coz there's this national surf tour comp being organized and one of its drop offs is at daet.. we might just let the national surf tour comp organizers take care of it all.. alvin's trying to contact any of the organizers tho to see if he can give any help he can...

anyway, i'll tell alvin about your proposal..
