i not much of a believer in surf schools or lessons, if youre a total newbie to waveriding its your passion for it, preseverance and personal efforts thats going to improve your skills. unless you can surf everyday, keeping yourself fit is good. maybe, a good instructor can help, but on a good day, say during those days with nice clean overheads, i bet youre going to be out there on your own and the instructors going to be having a grand time in the lineup chasing those waves, overheads can be quite overwhelming for newbies but the only way to improve your surfing would be to charge those waves. will you do it? safety? theres always a risk to surfing, all sorts of weird stuff can happen, leash snapping in the middle of a huge swell, a board cracking your head, a wipeout pinning you underwater. but im guessing that the numbers will show more people died in car accidents. its your call. have you ridden a wave? would you risk it in exchange for that short fleeting euphoric moments of waveriding? again its your decision, surfing is a very personal experience, its different for everyone, my take on it, as long as youre enjoying yourself, go out there and live life! keep on surfing ![]() | ||
